We are seeking a Communications Assistant to support our global communications programme, helping raise our profile and effectively engage with members and industry stakeholders. The role will suit an individual with solid organisational and communications skills who is committed to driving equitable solutions to climate change within heavy industry, and keen to engage with multiple stakeholders across a global context. The position offers international exposure and opportunities for growth.
The Communications Assistant will support the day-to-day delivery of ResponsibleSteel’s communications programme. Responsibilities include creating content for ResponsibleSteel’s website and social media channels, managing ResponsibleSteel’s social media calendar and monitoring analytics, delivering ResponsibleSteel’s monthly newsletter, supporting coordination of major announcements and events, and supporting membership communications.
We are seeking a Stakeholder Engagement Lead to help deepen ResponsibleSteel’s engagement with key stakeholders across steel value chains, manage our membership programme, activate new markets, and collaborate with civil society groups worldwide. The role will support our mission to ensure ResponsibleSteel remains the preferred pathway for responsible, low-emission steel production.
This new, mid-level position sits within the Membership and Communications team, reporting to the Head of Membership and Communications. You will develop and deliver comprehensive engagement strategies, oversee the membership programme and the value it offers, contribute to marketing approaches, and support high-impact in-person and online events that expand ResponsibleSteel’s influence and reach.
You will draw on your knowledge of the steel and heavy industry landscape, and your understanding of the economic, financial, and policy drivers shaping change, to build trust, foster collaboration, and inspire action among diverse stakeholders.
This is a rare opportunity to influence one of the most strategic yet carbon-intensive industries in the world, working with leading companies, governments, and civil society to drive real progress towards the responsible production of near-zero steel.
ResponsibleSteel is hiring a Claims & Traceability Specialist to lead the development and governance of ResponsibleSteel’s frameworks for claims, traceability, and chain of custody systems. The role is responsible for safeguarding the credibility and integrity of claims made by ResponsibleSteel certified organisations, ensuring they are transparent, robust, and aligned with emerging regulatory and market expectations.
This includes ownership of the ResponsibleSteel Claims & Logo Use Guidelines, development of GHG-related claims, and governance of the systems that support claims — including traceability models, registry systems, and digital tracking mechanisms, delivered in collaboration with external partners.
The role also leads ResponsibleSteel’s work on chain of custody implementation and traceability pilots, monitoring emerging developments in traceability systems such as book-and-claim registries and digital product passports, and identifying where ResponsibleSteel systems may need to evolve.
Working closely with the Director of Programmes, Head of Standards & Assurance, Decarbonisation Lead, members, and external stakeholders, the role ensures ResponsibleSteel’s claims and traceability frameworks remain credible, defensible, and practical across the steel value chain.
ResponsibleSteel is hiring a Head of Standards & Assurance to lead the credibility, clarity and operational effectiveness of our standards and assurance system. This role is accountable for ensuring ResponsibleSteel’s standards are robust, implementable globally, aligned with recognised good practice such as the ISEAL Codes, and continuously improved based on evidence and stakeholder feedback.
You will provide strategic leadership across standards governance and revision, assurance system design and integrity, and assurance system delivery, including oversight and implementation of consistent audits and certifications. The role also leads the development and implementation of ResponsibleSteel’s monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) programme, ensuring data collection, analysis and the incorporation of learning into the overall system design.
If you have significant experience in standards, assurance, certification or audit-based systems and are motivated to help maximise steel’s contribution to a sustainable future, we would love to hear from you.
